Mission

ENCORE NEO (New Employment Options) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Northeast Ohio that is committed to helping men and women age 50 and over design and build new careers around the things that inspire them.

Encore NEO programs help people overcome emotional, psychological, skill, and income challenges so they can craft Encore careers that provide:

  • reliable income to support their desired lifestyle,
  • meaningful work in a respectful environment,
  • flexibility and choice in work/life scheduling,
  • passive income for long-term sustainability, and
  • a notable legacy in which Encores can use their passions and talents to make the world a better place.

Vision

Encore NEO’s vision starts with redefining the notions of aging, work, and retirement, and offers new opportunities.

“We’re not who you think we are.” More Americans in their 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s reject anything that even remotely connects them with the senior citizen label. They embrace a "never-grow-old" mindset.

They also eschew the belief that retirement and leisure are the ultimate goals of life. Instead of “aging out,” they strive to remain vital and active, and they represent a powerful human asset to business and society.

In this new life stage, Encores seek independence and flexibility to fully enjoy life. They want more time for travel and recreation, and more time to spend with family and friends.

Some will work because they need the income and health benefits. Others want to continue pursuing careers that are personally meaningful, enable personal growth, afford flexible scheduling, and provide opportunities to contribute to society.

Encores want to remain relevant, engaged, productive, and fulfilled, and they demand creative scenarios that offer more choice.

A substantial number of Encores eagerly seek to support causes that deliver a positive social impact. Collectively, Encores can become a powerful force for social change.
